The Shenzhen Park of the Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone launched its second event under the theme of "Twin-City Cooperation, Sci-Tech Interaction" in Hong Kong on Wednesday in a bid to have in-depth exchanges with Hong Kong universities and jointly explore new development opportunities.

The delegation, led by the Hetao development agency, visited and held exchanges with the Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP), the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), and Hong Kong Baptist University.

At the Hong Kong Science Park, the delegation visited the shared laboratory, InnoCell, and other spaces to learn about the innovative models of park operation and construction. The delegation also discussed the operation and management of the Hong Kong Science Park Shenzhen Branch with HKSTP.

A themed event held at PolyU attracted nearly 100 professors, alumni, and students. Professor Christopher Chao, vice president of PolyU, said that efforts will be made to explore opportunities and build new scientific research momentum in the cooperation zone, thus opening a new chapter for cooperation.

Zeng Jianpeng, director-general of the Hetao development agency, extended a warm invitation to professors and scholars from Hong Kong universities to visit the Shenzhen park of the Hetao cooperation zone. He highlighted the zone's unique charm, its vibrant ecosystem for innovation and entrepreneurship, and the high-quality facilities available within its international talent community.

During a sharing session held at the event, Professor John Shi Wen-zhong, director of the PolyU Shenzhen Technology and Innovation Research Institute (Futian), and representatives from the innovation project presented the latest advancements and outcomes of their research.

Renowned Hong Kong architect Rocco Yim, whose notable projects include the Hong Kong Palace Museum, delivered an insightful speech offering valuable perspectives on the architectural and developmental vision of the Hetao cooperation zone.

The delegation also visited Hong Kong Baptist University and the university's State Key Laboratory of Environmental and Biological Analysis, where they had in-depth exchanges with researchers.

The Hetao development agency will invite teachers and students from Hong Kong universities to visit the Shenzhen Park of the Hetao cooperation zone so that they may gain firsthand knowledge of the park's special location, superior policies, good services, and sound science and technology innovation ecosystem.
